Meet the Team

Benjamin J. Kaufman

For over eleven years Ben has studied innovative community development and green building in Europe, Australia and throughout the Pacific Northwest. Prior to co-founding GreenWorks, Ben held positions at the commercial appraisal company Bruce C. Allen & Associates. Currently, he represents buyers and sellers in real estate transactions and provides market research and analysis, business development, education and consulting services. Ben holds a B.A. in Community and Environmental Planning, an urban planning degree from University of Washington and a Certificate in Permaculture Design (ecologically sound and efficient design principles). He is currently enrolled in University of Washington's Commercial Real Estate Certificate program. Ben is an avid outdoorsman, skier, and traveler.

Louie Kaufman

Louie has more than thirty years of experience in real estate during which time he has represented sellers and buyers in the listing and sale of single-family homes, multi-family units and vacant residential land. He has an extensive background with residential sales and property management, home construction, renovations, and sales and marketing of small multi-family apartment buildings. Prior to co-founding GreenWorks Realty in 2002, Louie served as Property Manager.  Today, Louie owns and operates several real estate entities including GreenWorks Realty, Mola Kaufman Trust, and CirclePix Virtual Tour Branch.  Mola Kaufman Trust owns several apartment buildings, condos and single family homes including a 5 unit apartment building and a 6 unit apartment building in Seattle.  Circle Pix provides virtual tour promotional capabilities to GreenWorks Realty clients. Louie has been licensed as a real estate broker in the State of Washington since 1990. Louie holds a  B. A. in Business Administration, George Mason University.  He has owned, managed and actively operated several personally owned single family homes and duplexes for the past 15 years.

Heather Swift

Heather has more that eleven years of marketing and communications experience with a track record of increasing exposure and generating response for both businesses and non-profits. She currently provides marketing and creative services for GreenWorks Realty. Prior to working with Greenworks, Heather served as the Director of Marketing for a management consulting firm The Genesis Group. She also led the marketing initiative for the West Business Unit Products Industry Group at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Management Consulting Services. Before entering the consulting industry, Heather served as a director in higher education where she was responsible for fund development, strategic planning, and constituent relations for Claremont McKenna College and Pitzer College. Heather holds a M.S. in Management, a business administration and management consulting degree, from Antioch University Seattle and B.A. in fine art from Scripps College (a member of The Claremont Colleges). She has also studied at Rhode Island School of Design and University of Zimbabwe and traveled throughout Africa, Asia, Europe and North America.

Eva Otto

Eva has a long background working on a variety of sustainability issues.  Eva spent six months working with the United Nations preparing a policy agenda for the World Summit on Sustainable Development in South Africa, August of 2002. She has also worked for the WA State Office of Trade and Economic Development in Energy Policy. In 2003, Eva commissioned the construction of a collectively designed natural building project in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Previously, Eva spent seven years studying and working internationally on community and economic development in almost a dozen countries. Strong interests include Eva's research on the structural organization and restoration accomplishments of an international intentional community in Auroville, India. She has carried out projects requiring Spanish, Portuguese and Japanese language skills. Eva writes for independent media and lists many publications. She holds a Master's Degree in Environmental Studies with a focus in global trade and finance reform. She is the former president of the Northwest Eco-Building Guild, South Sound Chapter. Currently, Eva focuses in low-impact development, green business development and real estate marketing.
